Target Information
RYBP is a component of a Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein PRC1-like complex, which maintains transcriptional repression of genes such as Hox during development.
This complex acts through chromatin remodeling and histone modification, mediating monoubiquitination of histone H2A at Lys-119, leading to heritable changes in gene expression.
RYBP plays roles in X-chromosome silencing, TP53 regulation, apoptosis modulation via FANK1 degradation, and transcriptional repression of E4TF1.
It may bind DNA and contribute to tumor growth suppression and metastasis inhibition in breast cancer by down-regulating SRRM3.
