Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using an epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The inhibin alpha subunit (INHA) combines with either the beta A or beta B subunit to form an inhibitor of pituitary FSH secretion. Inhibin negatively regulates gonadal stromal cell proliferation and exhibits tumor-suppressor activity. Serum inhibin levels correlate with granulosa-cell tumor size, serving as a marker for primary and recurrent disease. In prostate cancer, INHA gene expression is suppressed and undetectable in poorly differentiated cells. Expression varies among tissues, suggesting that inhibin acts as both a growth/differentiation factor and a hormone.
