Target Information
Neurogenic locus notch homolog protein 2 (NOTCH2) is a highly conserved protein involved in the Notch signaling pathway. It is a type I transmembrane receptor with multiple epidermal growth factor-like (EGF) repeats in the extracellular domain and various domain types in the intracellular region. NOTCH2 interacts with ligands such as Jagged1, Jagged2, and Delta1 to regulate cell fate determination. Mutations in NOTCH2 are associated with Alagille syndrome type 2 (ALGS2), an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by hepatic bile duct paucity, cholestasis, and multisystem involvement including cardiac, skeletal, and ocular manifestations.
