Apolipoprotein O는 지질의 운반 및 대사에 관여하는 아포지단백질 계열의 단백질입니다. HDL, LDL, VLDL 지단백과 결합하며 콘드로이틴 황산 글리코실화로 특징지어집니다. 비만 및 당뇨 환자의 심근 내 지방 축적을 방지하는 역할을 할 수 있습니다. 대체 스플라이싱으로 여러 전사 변이가 생성되며, 해당 유전자의 유사유전자가 염색체 3, 4, 5, 12, 16에 존재합니다.
