Target Information

NUAK1 (ARK5) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in various cellular processes. Overexpression is associated with tumor invasion and metastasis (e.g., colorectal cancer).
It regulates cellular senescence and ploidy by phosphorylating LATS1 at Ser-464, affecting its stability.
Also controls cell adhesion via the myosin protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) complex by phosphorylating PPP1R12A, which then binds 14-3-3 proteins to modulate myosin MLC2 dephosphorylation.
NUAK1 participates in the DNA damage response by phosphorylating p53 at Ser-15 and Ser-392, contributing to transcription activation.
It may promote tumor malignancy through AKT1-dependent phosphorylation, suppress Fas-induced apoptosis by phosphorylating CASP6, and regulate UV-induced DNA damage response via CDKN1A phosphorylation.
