This antibody is directed against the unphosphorylated form of PKD2. Cross-reactivity with phosphorylated forms has not yet been determined.
Target Information
The PKD2 gene encodes a member of the polycystin protein family containing multiple transmembrane domains and cytoplasmic N- and C-termini. The protein is an integral membrane protein involved in cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. It may function in renal tubular development, morphology, and function, and modulate intracellular calcium homeostasis and signal transduction pathways. PKD2 interacts with polycystin 1 to produce cation-permeable currents. Mutations in this gene are associated with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease.
