Target Information
TTK is a serine/threonine kinase closely related to SPK1, PIM1, and CDC2 serine/threonine kinases.
It is a dual-specificity kinase capable of phosphorylating tyrosine as well as serine/threonine residues.
TTK consists of a common heteromeric core enzyme composed of a catalytic subunit and a constant regulatory subunit, which associates with various regulatory subunits.
The constant regulatory subunit A serves as a scaffolding molecule coordinating the assembly of the catalytic subunit and variable regulatory B subunit.
TTK encodes an alpha isoform of the constant regulatory subunit A. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
