Target Information
CD13 (ANPEP) is a 150–170 kDa type II transmembrane zinc-binding ectopeptidase expressed on various cell types.
It preferentially catalyzes the removal of neutral amino acids from small peptides, regulating activation or inactivation of bioactive peptides.
CD13 is involved in extracellular matrix degradation, antigen processing, and signal transduction, contributing to inflammatory responses, cell motility, and vascularization.
It is expressed by granulocytes, monocytes, and myeloid leukemia cells, and its expression is associated with poor prognosis in carcinomas.
CD13 also functions as an aminopeptidase enzyme and serves as an alpha receptor for coronavirus.
