Recognises a 14 amino acid sequence (GKPIPNPLLGLDST) derived from the P and V proteins of the paramyxovirus simian virus 5.

Target Information

Epitope tags provide a method to localize gene products in various cell types, study protein topology and complexes, identify associated proteins, and characterize newly identified or low abundance proteins when protein-specific antibodies are not available.
The V5 epitope tag is derived from the P and V proteins of simian virus 5 (SV5). It typically includes all 14 amino acids (GKPIPNPLLGLDST), but a shorter 9 amino acid version (IPNPLLGLD) is also used.
