DAAM2는 planar cell polarity (PCP) 신호 경로에 관여하는 단백질로, 세포 극성, 수렴 확장(convergent extension), 세포 침윤 조절에 관여합니다.
이 단백질은 formin homology family에 속하며 DAD, FH1, FH2, GBD/FH3 도메인을 포함합니다.
DAAM2는 세포 분열에 관여하며, DAAM1과 유사하게 Wnt/Fz 신호전달 및 Rho 활성화, 세포골격 구조 조절에 관련된 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
대부분의 조직에서 발현되며, 특히 뇌에서 발현 수준이 높습니다.
