Target Information
ERCC1 is a non-catalytic component of a structure-specific DNA repair endonuclease responsible for the 5'-incision during DNA repair. It works in conjunction with SLX4 to repair interstrand cross-links (ICL) and participates in the processing of anaphase bridge-generating DNA structures. These structures arise from incompletely processed DNA lesions during S or G2 phase and can lead to cytokinesis failure. ERCC1 is also required for homology-directed repair (HDR) of DNA double-strand breaks in cooperation with SLX4. (Source: UniProt)
