Target Information
RBM35A, also known as ESRP1, is an mRNA splicing factor that, together with its related protein RBM35B (ESRP2), coordinates an epithelial cell-type-specific splicing program.
RBM35A contains three putative RNA recognition motifs and binds specific mRNA sequences. It regulates posttranscriptional expression of genes such as FGFR2, CD44, CTNND1, and ENAH, influencing protein translation via 5′ UTRs.
Recent studies suggest RBM35A may also function as a novel tumor suppressor.
