Target Information
EED (Embryonic Ectoderm Development) protein, also known as WAIT-1 or WD protein associated with integrin cytoplasmic tails-1, belongs to the WD-40 repeat protein superfamily and the polycomb group (PcG) family. PcG proteins form conserved multimeric complexes that modify histones, leading to stable and heritable transcriptional repression. EED shuttles between the nucleus and plasma membrane and interacts with the integrin Beta-7 subunit's cytoplasmic tail. It also exhibits antiviral activity during the late stage of HIV-1 replication.
