This antibody detects endogenous levels of total beta Galactosidase protein.
Target Information
Beta Galactosidase (GLB1) encodes a member of the glycosyl hydrolase 35 family. Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants, including a preproprotein processed into a mature lysosomal enzyme. This enzyme hydrolyzes terminal beta-linked galactose residues from gangliosides and glycoconjugates. Mutations in GLB1 are associated with GM1-gangliosidosis and Morquio B syndrome.
