Target Information

CD31 (platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1, PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor regulating T and B cell signaling via dual ITIM motifs. Upon phosphorylation, it provides docking sites for protein-tyrosine phosphatases. CD31 is expressed throughout the vascular compartment, primarily at cell junctions, and mediates homophilic binding through its N-terminal Ig-like domain.
It plays key roles in:

• Integrin-mediated cell adhesion
• Transendothelial migration
• Angiogenesis
• Apoptosis
• Negative regulation of immunoreceptor signaling
