Target Information
E2F5 is a member of the E2F family of transcription factors, which play a crucial role in cell cycle control and tumor suppressor protein action. The E2F proteins contain conserved domains, including:
- DNA binding domain
- Dimerization domain for DP protein interaction
- Transactivation domain rich in acidic amino acids
- Tumor suppressor protein association domain
E2F5 is differentially phosphorylated and expressed in various human tissues. It shares high identity with E2F4 and interacts with tumor suppressor proteins p130 and p107, but not with pRB. Alternative splicing leads to multiple isoforms.
