Target Information

Histones are basic nuclear proteins that form the nucleosome structure of chromosomal fibers in eukaryotes. Each nucleosome consists of an octamer of core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, H4) wrapped by ~146 bp of DNA.
Histone H1 interacts with linker DNA between nucleosomes, contributing to chromatin compaction. The Histone H1.2 gene is intronless, lacks polyA tails, and resides in the large histone gene cluster on chromosome 6.
