Target Information
Transcription elongation factor that binds histone H3 and regulates transcription elongation and mRNA processing. Enhances elongation by RNA polymerase II and is required for activation by HIV-1 Tat. Forms complexes with IWS1 and RNAPII CTD to recruit mRNA export factors and histone-modifying enzymes, ensuring proper splicing and elongation-coupled H3K36 methylation. Also involved in class-switch recombination, somatic hypermutation, and activation of myogenic gene programs via epigenetic regulation.
