Description:
The 2H5 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse, rat, and human monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), also known as CCL2 and MCAF.
Applications Reported:
The 2H5 antibody has been reported for use in ELISA, intracellular staining for flow cytometric analysis, and cytokine neutralization.
For functional assays, use Functional Grade purified 2H5 antibody (Product # 16-7096).
Applications Tested:
Mouse MCP-1 ELISA:
Biotinylated 2H5 antibody serves as the detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA with affinity purified 4E2/MCP (Product # 14-7091-81) as capture and recombinant mouse MCP-1 as standard.
Recommended concentration range: 0.5–2.0 µg/mL.
Include a standard curve from 2000 pg/mL to 15 pg/mL.Human MCP-1 ELISA:

Target Information
This gene encodes a cytokine located on chromosome 17q, part of a cluster of immunoregulatory and inflammatory cytokine genes.
The protein is structurally related to the CXC subfamily, characterized by two cysteines separated by one amino acid.
CCL2 exhibits chemotactic activity for monocytes and basophils but not for neutrophils or eosinophils.
It is implicated in diseases with monocytic infiltration such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and atherosclerosis.
CCL2 binds to chemokine receptors CCR2 and CCR4.
