Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Transcriptional control is regulated in part by interactions between DNA-bound transcription factors such as Egr-1/NGFI-A and coregulatory proteins such as NAB (NGFI-A-binding proteins). NAB1 and NAB2 are evolutionarily conserved corepressors of EGF-1/NGFI-A.
Both proteins contain an N-terminal NAB conserved domain 1 (NCD1) for NGFI-A binding and a C-terminal NCD2 domain responsible for repressor function.
NAB2 is localized mainly in the nucleus and may play a role in downregulating NGFI-A activity and in controlling cell division, differentiation, and apoptosis.
NAB2 has a predicted molecular mass of 56 kDa and maps to chromosome 12q13.3–14.1, a region rearranged in several solid tumors, lipomas, and liposarcomas.
