Target Information
Heterogeneous nuclear RNAs (hnRNAs), including mRNA precursors and mature mRNAs, form complexes with specific proteins called heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs). hnRNP L is one of the proteins stably associated with these complexes and plays a key role in mRNA formation, packaging, processing, and function.
It is primarily localized in the nucleoplasm but can also be found in the cytoplasm, suggesting potential cytoplasmic functions. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
