Target Information
CHEK1 (CHK1) is a serine/threonine protein kinase that prevents replication when DNA integrity is compromised. It acts as a key mediator in the DNA damage-induced checkpoint network and ensures genomic stability under genotoxic stress. Inhibition of CHK1 can trigger mitotic catastrophe in p53-deficient cancer cells while sparing normal cells, making CHK1 an attractive target for cancer therapy.
