Target Information
CD20 is a non-glycosylated surface phosphoprotein with a molecular weight of 33–37 kDa depending on phosphorylation. It is expressed on mature and most malignant B cells, a subpopulation of T lymphocytes, and follicular dendritic cells. CD20 regulates calcium conductance, cell cycle progression, and B-cell proliferation. It associates with lipid rafts and plays a role in BCR aggregation and signaling. CD20 is a key target for antibody-mediated B-cell depletion therapies, remaining on the cell surface after antibody treatment. Dysfunction of CD20 is associated with MS4A1-related common variable immune deficiency.
