Product Specific Information
The AA4.1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse C1qRp, a 130–140 kDa C-type lectin-like type I transmembrane protein.
AA4.1 antigen is expressed on early stages of B cell development in bone marrow, and detectable in adult spleen and fetal liver.
It can be used with other hematopoietic progenitor markers (Thy-1, Sca-1, c-Kit, CD43, CD24) to distinguish subsets of Lymphoid-Committed Progenitors (CLP).
AA4.1 expression correlates with surface IgM and CD23, defining transitional B cell subsets:
- T1 (AA4.1+/CD23-/sIgMhi)
- T2 (AA4.1+/CD23+/sIgMhi)
- T3 (AA4.1+/CD23+/sIgMlo)
AA4.1 is also expressed in cytoplasmic vesicles of endothelial cells, megakaryoblasts, and platelets.
Monoclonal antibodies AA4.1 and 493 recognize different epitopes of the same molecule.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse bone marrow cells. Recommended ≤0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Optimize titration for best results.
Fluorochrome Information:
Super Bright 436 is excited at 405 nm (violet laser) and emits at 436 nm. Recommended filter: 450/50 bandpass or equivalent.
For multiple Super Bright conjugates, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize polymer interactions.

Target Information
CD93 is a cell-surface glycoprotein and type I membrane protein, originally identified as a myeloid cell-specific marker.
It is involved in intercellular adhesion and apoptotic cell clearance, rather than C1q receptor function.
The cytoplasmic tail interacts with moesin, linking transmembrane proteins to the cytoskeleton and contributing to cytoskeletal remodeling.
