Anti-human Polynucleotide Kinase Mouse Monoclonal Antibody recognizes polynucleotide kinase (PNK), a 57 kDa nuclear enzyme involved in DNA strand repair during replication, recombination, and response to DNA damage.
PNK phosphorylates and dephosphorylates DNA 5'-hydroxy and 3'-phosphate ends, associating with nuclear proteins to prepare DNA termini for polymerase-beta and ligase III activity.
This enzyme is essential for maintaining genetic stability in human cells.
