Target Information
이 유전자는 효모 Sir2 단백질의 상동체인 sirtuin 단백질 계열에 속하는 단백질을 암호화합니다.
Sirtuin 계열은 sirtuin core domain을 가지며, 네 가지 클래스 중 하나로 분류됩니다.
인간 sirtuin의 기능은 아직 완전히 규명되지 않았으나, 효모 sirtuin 단백질은 후성유전적 유전자 침묵(epigenetic gene silencing)과 rDNA 재조합 억제를 조절하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
연구에 따르면 인간 sirtuin 단백질은 mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase 활성을 가진 세포 내 조절 단백질로 작용할 수 있습니다.
SIRT4는 sirtuin family의 class IV에 속합니다.
