Target Information
Dedicator of cytokinesis 3 (DOCK3), also known as MOCA or PBP, is a ~180 kDa protein involved in signal transduction. It functions as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) that activates small GTPases by exchanging GDP for GTP. DOCK3 is associated with Alzheimer’s disease tangles and regulates amyloid precursor protein and beta-amyloid accumulation. Overexpression of DOCK3 promotes axonal outgrowth downstream of BDNF signaling and interacts with GSK-3β to promote axon branching and microtubule assembly. It plays a crucial role in actin polymerization and cytoskeletal dynamics in the CNS.
