This antibody detects endogenous levels of total PDZK1.
Target Information
PDZK1 is a scaffold protein that connects plasma membrane proteins and regulatory components, regulating their surface expression in epithelial cell apical domains. It may be involved in coordinating various regulatory processes for ion transport and second messenger cascades. In complex with SLC9A3R1, PDZK1 may cluster functionally dependent proteins and modulate the trafficking and activity of associated membrane proteins. It may also play a role in cellular mechanisms associated with multidrug resistance through interactions with ABCC2 and PDZK1IP1, and may potentiate CFTR chloride channel activity. PDZK1 connects SCARB1 with intracellular cholesterol transport machinery and may regulate proximal tubular Na(+)-dependent inorganic phosphate cotransport, playing an important role in tubule function.
