Chromatin assembly factor 1 (CAF-1)는 히스톤 샤페론 패밀리에 속하는 단백질로, 염색체의 후성유전적 상태의 유지를 위해 필요합니다. 시험관 내에서는 DNA 복제 및 수리 과정 중 크로마틴 조립을 촉진합니다. CAF-1은 p150, p60, p48의 세 가지 서브유닛으로 구성된 복합체이며, 인간 세포의 핵에 존재합니다. 인간, 효모, 초파리 간에 구성과 생화학적 활성 모두 보존되어 있습니다.
