Target Information
Cytokeratin pan belongs to a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by biochemical diversity. In human epithelial tissues, at least 20 different cytokeratin polypeptides are expressed, with molecular weights ranging from 40–68 kDa and isoelectric points between 4.9–7.8.
Cytokeratin subtype expression patterns are distinctive for different epithelial types and differentiation stages. These patterns assist in distinguishing epithelial malignancies and are valuable in tumor diagnosis, cytopathology, and flow cytometry assays.
Keratins serve as important markers in cancer research and tumor classification.
