Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the disco-interacting protein homolog 2 family. The encoded protein contains binding sites for the transcriptional regulator DNA methyltransferase 1 associated protein 1 and AMP-binding sites, suggesting a role in DNA methylation. It is located near a folate-sensitive fragile site, and CGG-repeat expansion in the promoter region has been detected in individuals with this fragile site on chromosome 12.
