Product Specific Information

Antibody detects endogenous levels of IKB epsilon only when phosphorylated at Serine 161.

Target Information

NFKB1 or NFKB2 binds to REL, RELA, or RELB to form the NFKB complex.
The NFKB complex is inhibited by I-kappa-B proteins (NFKBIA or NFKBIB), which trap NF-kappa-B in the cytoplasm.
Phosphorylation of serine residues on I-kappa-B proteins by kinases (IKBKA or IKBKB) triggers their degradation via the ubiquitination pathway, leading to activation of the NF-kappa-B complex.
Activated NFKB translocates into the nucleus and binds DNA at kappa-B-binding motifs such as 5′-GGGRNNYYCC-3′ or 5′-HGGARNYYCC-3′.
For some genes, activation requires NFKB interaction with other transcription factors, including STAT, AP1, and NFAT.
