Target Information

Pan Cadherin (including CDH1, CDH2, CDH3, CDH4) proteins are transmembrane molecules mediating calcium-dependent intercellular adhesion.
Cadherins regulate morphogenetic movements during development and control cell surface adhesion via homotypic binding.
N-cadherin function depends on actin-cytoskeleton association through interactions with cytoplasmic catenin proteins.
This classical cadherin is a calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoprotein with five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region, and a conserved cytoplasmic tail.
It functions during gastrulation and contributes to left-right asymmetry establishment.
In the CNS, it mediates presynaptic to postsynaptic adhesion.
