Target Information
Melanoma-associated antigen (MAGE) family proteins are silent in normal tissues except for male germ cells and placenta, and are expressed in various tumor types. Due to their tumor-specific expression, they are of interest for antitumor immunotherapy. MAGE family genes encode tumor antigens recognized by cytolytic T lymphocytes. Although the function of MAGEH1 is not fully elucidated, it may be involved in embryonal development and tumor progression.
