Target Information
P-cadherin (Cadherin-3)은 Type 1 cadherin 단백질로, cadherin superfamily에 속하는 단일 막관통성 단백질입니다. 5개의 세포외 cadherin 반복 영역과 p120-catenin 및 β-catenin에 결합하는 세포내 도메인을 가지고 있습니다.
Cadherin은 칼슘 의존적 세포-세포 접착 당단백질로, 발달, 상처 치유, 세포 신호전달, 성장 및 분화 등 다양한 생물학적 과정에 관여합니다.
P-cadherin은 인간 태아 조직 및 성체의 표피 기저층, 유방, 전립선, 난소, 자궁경부, 모낭, 각막 내피 등에서 발현되며, 배아줄기세포 및 정상 유선과 모낭의 줄기세포에서도 보고되었습니다.
P-cadherin의 과발현은 유방, 전립선, 난소, 결장, 위암 등에서 불량한 예후와 관련이 있습니다. CDH3 유전자의 돌연변이는 선천성 저모증과 소아 황반이영양증과 연관되어 있습니다.
