Product Specific Information

Anti-GAPDH Monoclonal Antibody is directed against rabbit Glyceraldehyde-3-Phosphate Dehydrogenase.
This antibody is expected to react with rabbit, human, and mouse based on 100% sequence homology.
Reactivity against other species is not known.
Target Information
GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase) is a catalytic enzyme involved in glycolysis.
It exists as a tetramer of identical 37-kDa subunits and catalyzes the reversible reduction of 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate to glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate in the presence of NADPH.
Beyond glycolysis, GAPDH participates in:
- DNA replication and repair
- Nuclear RNA export
- Membrane fusion and microtubule bundling
- Gene expression regulation during apoptosis
- Cellular processes related to neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s)
Due to its high expression in most tissues, GAPDH is widely used as a protein loading control in Western blot analysis.
