This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. Antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select optimal clones.

Target Information

Interferon alpha (IFNα) is a Type I interferon, a family of structurally related, species-specific proteins found in vertebrates.
Binding of IFNα to its receptor activates signaling pathways involved in innate antiviral immune responses.
In humans, the IFNα gene cluster is located on chromosome 9 and includes 14 alpha isoforms.
Produced mainly by plasmacytoid dendritic cells, IFNα is crucial for antiviral defense and modulation of adaptive immunity.
Dysfunction of IFNα is associated with Hepatitis C and Hepatitis.
