Target Information
ACKR1 (also known as DARC) is an atypical chemokine receptor that regulates chemokine levels and localization through high-affinity binding, independent of classical signal transduction pathways.
It functions as a chemokine-scavenging or decoy receptor, interacting with inflammatory chemokines of both CXC and CC subfamilies, but not with homeostatic chemokines.
ACKR1 also acts as a receptor for various chemokines including CCL2, CCL5, CCL7, CCL11, CCL13, CCL14, CCL17, CXCL5, CXCL6, IL8/CXCL8, CXCL11, GRO, RANTES, MCP-1, TARC, and for malaria parasites P. vivax and P. knowlesi.
