Beta 3 Adrenergic Receptor는 주로 지방 조직(adipose tissue)에 존재하며, 지방분해(lipolysis)와 열발생(thermogenesis) 조절에 관여합니다.
이 수용체는 G 단백질의 작용을 통해 에피네프린과 노르에피네프린에 의해 아데닐산 사이클라아제(adenylate cyclase)를 활성화시키는 역할을 합니다.
Beta 3 Adrenergic Receptor의 발현은 지방 조직, 심장, 소화기관 및 요로기관(방광, 결장, 소장, 위, 요관)의 평활근에서 확인되었습니다.
