Target Information
DAP12 (TYROBP) is a transmembrane adaptor protein that associates non-covalently with several cell surface receptors on NK, myeloid, and neuronal cells. It contains an ITAM domain that recruits protein tyrosine kinase Syk to initiate signal transduction. DAP12 deficiency leads to reduced antigen presentation by myeloid cells, impaired NK receptor function, and is associated with presenile dementia and bone cysts in humans.
