Target Information
Anti-human Polynucleotide Kinase Mouse Monoclonal Antibody recognizes polynucleotide kinase (PNK), a 57 kDa nuclear enzyme involved in DNA strand repair processes that occur during replication, recombination, or in response to DNA damage.
PNK acts on DNA 5'-hydroxy and 3'-phosphate termini for phosphorylation and dephosphorylation. During strand breakage, PNK associates with other nuclear proteins to prepare DNA ends for polymerase-beta and ligase III activity.
PNK is essential for maintaining genetic stability in human cells.
