CD42a는 단일 사슬 막당단백질로 CD42b와 비공유 결합 복합체를 형성합니다. CD42b는 glycoprotein Ib α (GPIb α)로도 알려져 있으며 α 및 β 사슬로 구성됩니다. CD42b β 사슬은 CD42c로도 불리며, 혈소판과 거핵세포에서 발현됩니다. CD42a와 CD42b 복합체는 혈소판 표면의 주요 구성 요소로서 von Willebrand factor에 대한 수용체 역할을 하며, von Willebrand factor 의존성 부착 수용체로 작용합니다.
