The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The family of voltage-dependent chloride channels (CLCs) regulates cellular trafficking of chloride ions, essential for cellular excitability and volume maintenance.
- CLCN1: Highly expressed in skeletal muscle; mutations cause myotonia, characterized by muscle stiffness and renal salt wasting.
- CLCN2: Expressed in lung epithelia; potential therapeutic target for cystic fibrosis.
- CLCN3: Abundant in neuronal tissue.
- CLCN4: Found in skeletal, cardiac muscle, and brain.
- CLCN5: Mutations lead to Dent’s disease (proteinuria, hypercalciuria).
- CLCN6/7: Broadly expressed in testis, kidney, brain, and muscle.
