Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.

Target Information

SPTAN1 (spectrin alpha chain, non-erythrocytic 1) is part of the spectrin family of filamentous cytoskeletal proteins.
Spectrins serve as scaffold proteins that stabilize the plasma membrane and organize intracellular organelles.
They are composed of alpha and beta dimers forming tetramers linked in a head-to-head arrangement.
SPTAN1 is also involved in DNA repair and cell cycle regulation.
Mutations in this gene cause early infantile epileptic encephalopathy-5.
Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
