Target Information
Calreticulin (Calr) is a calcium-binding chaperone involved in protein folding, oligomeric assembly, and quality control within the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) through the calreticulin/calnexin cycle. It transiently interacts with monoglucosylated glycoproteins synthesized in the ER and associates with the DNA-binding domain of NR3C1 to mediate nuclear export. Calreticulin also plays a role in maternal gene expression regulation and oocyte maturation by modulating calcium homeostasis.
