NIP1 (BNIP1)은 BCL2/adenovirus E1B 19 kDa-interacting protein (BNIP) 패밀리에 속하는 단백질로, 바이러스 유도성 세포사멸을 억제하는 E1B 19 kDa 단백질 및 BCL2와 상호작용합니다. 이 유전자는 대체 스플라이싱을 통해 네 가지 전사 변이를 생성하며, BNIP1 전사체는 전체 코딩 영역을 포함하고 있습니다. BNIP1은 세포사멸 유도 기능과 관련된 BH3 도메인을 보유하고 있습니다.
