Opsin Blue은 G-protein coupled receptor 1 패밀리의 opsin 서브패밀리에 속하며, 청색 원추세포 색소를 암호화합니다. 이는 정상적인 색각에 필요한 세 가지 원추세포 색소 중 하나로, 해당 유전자의 결함은 tritan 색맹(청색-황색 감지 이상)을 유발합니다. 이 경우 청색 및 황색 인식 기능이 결여되고 적색 및 녹색 인식은 유지됩니다.
