Target Information
Cysteine protease ATG4B는 ATG4B 유전자에 의해 발현되는 효소로, 자가포식(autophagy) 과정의 핵심적인 조절자입니다.
ATG4B는 ATG8 계열 단백질(MAP1LC3, GABARAPL1, GABARAPL2, GABARAP)의 C-말단 글리신을 노출시켜 인지질(phosphatidylethanolamine, PE)에 결합할 수 있도록 합니다.
이 과정은 손상된 세포소기관의 제거 및 단백질 항상성 유지에 필수적입니다.
ATG4B는 주로 골격근, 뇌, 심장, 간, 췌장에서 발현됩니다.
