Cardiac Troponin T는 근육의 얇은 필라멘트에 위치한 트로포닌 복합체의 트로포미오신 결합 서브유닛으로, 세포 내 칼슘 농도 변화에 따라 근육 수축을 조절합니다.
이 단백질은 근육 기능과 근섬유 형성에 중요하며, 인간 심장에서 발달 단계에 따라 네 가지 cTnT 아이소폼이 발현됩니다.
심부전 시 Cardiac Troponin T의 발현이 영향을 받으며, 해당 단백질의 돌연변이는 가족성 비후성 심근병증 및 확장성 심근병증과 관련이 있습니다.
Cardiac Troponin T 유전자의 전사는 대체 스플라이싱을 통해 여러 조직 특이적 아이소폼을 생성합니다.
