Target Information
GPX8 (Probable glutathione peroxidase 8), also known as GSHPx-8, belongs to the glutathione peroxidase family. GPx enzymes reduce hydroperoxides, including hydrogen peroxides, using reduced glutathione to protect organisms from oxidative damage. Eight GPx types (GPx1–GPx8) have been identified in humans. The full-length GPX8 protein consists of 209 amino acids with a molecular weight of approximately 24 kDa.
